Freda May Cleveland, 79, of Osburn, passed away peacefully on September 1, 2008.

She was born September 3, 1928 in Victor, Mont. to Arch ad Ida May Christy. Freda grew up in the Bitterroot Valley before making hr home in Osburn.

She married Jack Cleveland on March 25, 1955 in Ely, Nev.

Freda and Jack had 4 children and their spouses; Barbara (Mike) Wood of Osburn, Eddie (Sheri) Poindexter of Post Falls, Shirley (the late Peter Flores) of Osburn and Walt (Brenda) Cleveland of Elko, Nev.


She also had 11 grandchildren and their spouses; Kim (Gary) Coast, Linda Chambers of Big Fork, Mont., Jim (Angela) Chambers of Columbus, Mont, Jacqueline Flores of Cottonwood, Ariz., Tina (Jeremy) Flores of Post Falls, Tonya Flores of Nashville, Tenn., Robert (Cheryl) Poindexter of Coeur d'Alene, Christina (Eric) Paine of Post Falls, Starla (Scott) Ricks of Elko, Nev. Shara Cleveland of Nevada and Jack Cleveland of Elko, Nev.

Freda also had 21 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded n death by her parents, her husband Jack, brother Hugh Christy; 13 other brothers and sisters, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Freda loved spending time with her family. She was a very strong, caring and loving lady. She will be greatly missed.

No services will be held.

MILNE -Madeline Lucille Milne, born September 30, 1912 in Albertville, MN, passed away August 4, 2003 in Pasadena, CA at the age of 90. Survived by sons, Frank Responts, Ralph Responts; nine grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; sisters, Lenore Joyer and Marion Booth. Services will be held at Rose Hills Mortuary, Memorial Chapel, Gate #1, 3888 S. Workman Mill Road, Whittier on Saturday, August 9, 2003, 3:00 P.M. Interment, Rose Hills Memorial Park.

The baby girl was born Jan. 11, 2007, at 2:50 a.m. at Balboa Hospital-Naval Medical Center, San Diego, Calif. At birth, she weighed 8 pounds 9 ounces and was 20.5 inches long.

Grandparents are Beth Plummer, Glenwood; Dick Hargreaves, Yakima; Cameron and Sharon Sevey, Provo, Utah; and Brenda and Joe Hopkins, Hood River, Ore.

Obituary for Lenore Joyer (Grandpa Billette's Sister) from the Mail Tribune of Medford, OR



Lenore Mary Joyer

Lenore Mary Joyer went home to be with our Lord on Nov. 29, 2008, at Three Fountains of Medford. She was born in Albertville, Minn. on Feb. 14, 1918. She married Clement Elliot Joyer in 1931. In 1933, Jacqueline Anne Joyer was born. From 1932 to 1935, Lenore worked in the local school system in Albertville, Minn., to help support the family. In 1940, Clem and Lenore decided to leave Minnesota for the West Coast, where they arrived in Klamath Falls, Ore. In 1951, they moved to Medford, Ore., where they have lived ever since.

Lenore is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Billette and Annette Bistodeau Billette; brothers, Elvin Bistodeau, Delphos Billette, Leon Billette and Richard Billette; three sisters, Madeline Milne, Helen Rahn and Lena Glass. Lenore was also preceded in death by her husband of 47 wonderful years, Clement Joyer; daughter, Jacqueline Ann Hackett; and one grandson, Joseph.

She is survived by one sister, Marion Booth; 10 grandchildren, John (Chong), Wayne (Sherri), Jerry (Barb), Mary (Jim), David, Margaret (Toni), Marlene (Tony), Michael (Val), Theresa, Stephen (Chris); 36 great-grandchildren; and 28 great-great-grandchildren.

She was very active in the Catholic Church Altar Society and a Pink Lady with Providence Guild.

A viewing will be held at Conger~Morris, Medford, on Thursday, Dec. 4, from 4 to 6 p.m. A rosary will be held on Thursday, Dec. 4, at 4 p.m. The funeral will be held on Friday, Dec. 5 at 2 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Oakdale.

Scott and Keturah's Wedding Annoucement (The Enterprise)



Keturah Connolly became the bride of Scott Billette on Feb. 24 at St. Peter's Landmark in The Dalles.

The bride is the daughter of Roger Connolly, Lafayette, La., and Colleen Connolly, White Salmon. The groom is the son of Jeffrey and Kristie Billette, Snowden.

Oscar Stenberg performed the ceremony before family and friends.

Kili Connolly, Kamrah Connolly, Jacque Stencil and Jennifer Jenks served as attendants for the bride. Ushers were Todd Nunn, Philip Wang, Shaun Billette and Jason Schultz.

After the ceremony, a reception was held at the White Salmon Elks Lodge.

The bride is a 1999 Columbia High graduate. The groom graduated from Columbia in 1992.

Following a honeymoon trip to Hawaii, the couple is now at home in Dallesport.

Obituary for Grandpa Billette from The Enterprise

Leon Joseph Billette, 75, died at his home in Dallesport on June 2, 2001.

Mr. Billette was born on June 3, 1925, in Albertville, Minn., to Joseph D. and Annette (Bistodeau) Billette. He grew up in Minnesota and on June 28, 1945, he married Viola Shipman in Minneapolis. The couple moved to the mid-Columbia area in 1948.

Mr. Billette worked on relocation of railroad signals when the John Day Dam was built and he also worked as a logger. At heart, however, he was always a farmer.

He enjoyed gardening, roses and talking to people. Mr. Billette loved his family and will be greatly missed by them.

Survivors include his wife Viola; sons Joseph, Lyle, and Jeff and Mike, White Salmon; daughters Susan Coleman, Lyle, Bonnie Meyer, Gresham, Ore., and Janice Billette, Hood River, Ore.; sisters Madeline Milne, Pasadena, Calif., Lenore Joyer, Medford, Ore., Lena Glass, Eugene, Ore., and Marian Booth, Minneapolis, Minn.; 16 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Mr. Billette was preceded in death by daughter Norma Jean in 1968 and by three brothers and one sister.

Graveside services for Mr. Billette will be held Friday, June 8, 2001, at 1 p.m. at the White Salmon Cemetery.

Arrangements were handled by Gardner Funeral Home of White Salmon.

The bride is the daughter of Ricky and Margie Baumgarten, White Salmon. The groom is the son of Janice Billette, Dallesport, and Lenny Burris, Lyle.

Tiffany Baumgarten was maid of honor and Tera McElrany, Keri Brandt and Angie Clark were bridesmaids.

Kevin Whitson was best man and groomsmen were Scott Billette, Nathan Ziegler and Damon Coleman.

Heidi Billette, Lyle, will marry Joseph Bodolay, Lyle, on March 27, 2004, at St. Peter's Catholic Church in The Dalles.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Joseph and Susan Billette. The future groom is the son of Joseph and Margie Bodolay.

Father Todd Unger is scheduled to perform the ceremony.

Sarah Billette will serve as maid of honor while bridesmaids will be Kimberly Green and Debbie Pettitt.

Best man will be Zach Manning and groomsmen will be Jimmy Bodolay and Justin Bodolay.

Kurtis Billette will be the ringbearer and Miranda Billette the flower girl.

Following the wedding, a reception will be held in the church parish center.

The bride-to-be graduated from Lyle High School and Yakima Valley Community College.

The future groom also graduated from Lyle High and from Columbia Gorge Community College.

The couple plans a wedding trip to Cabo, Mexico.

He weighed 8 pounds and 2 ounces.

DANIEL PLUMMER

Daniel Franklin Plummer, 74, died on Feb. 11, 2007, at the Hood River Care Center. He was born to James Ralph Pummer and Eunice Faye O'Dell in Wilberton, Kan., on Sept. 24, 1932.

He moved to Bingen in 1967. He worked as a miner and mill worker for most of his life.

Mr. Plummer is survived by wife, Mary Pummer, White Salmon; nine children Kathryn Hayes, Dallesport, Charels Crowell, Kamai, Idaho, Daniel P. Plummer, Beeville, Texas, Elizabeth Burris, Glenwood, David Plummer, White Salmon, Roshelle Musgrove, Trout Lake, Clayton Plummer, Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, Thomas Plummer, White Salmon, and Mitchell Plummer, Underwood; sisters Joyce Laterneaux and Jean Fratheim, both of Aberdeen, Charlene Head, Rose Bud, Ark., and Marsha Lingar, Tri Cities; brother James Plummer, Wallace, Idaho; 23 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and seven great, great-grandchildren.

A memorial service was held on Feb. 15 and 17, 2007.

MARY PLUMMER

Mary Alecia Plummer, formerly of White Salmon, died in her home on March 6, 2007.

She was born on Nov. 9, 1932, in Santa Monica, Calif. She was the daughter of Charles and Katheryn Cleaveland. She was a graduate of Wallace High School in Wallace, Idaho, before attending Columbia Gorge Community College several years later. She was united in marriage to Daniel F. Plummer on May 12, 1953. They were married 54 years before he preceded her in death on Feb. 11, 2007.

The Plummers lived in White Salmon for many years, where she worked for Head Start, Whitson Elementary and Klickitat County Senior Services. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, reading and science fiction. Her love of life was only exceeded by her love for family and friends.

She is survived by her children, Katheryn Hays, Dallesport, Charles Crowel, Kuski, Idaho, Dan Plummer, Bee Vill, Texas, Elizabeth Plummer, Glenwood, David Plummer, White Salmon, Rochelle Billette-Musgrove, Trout Lake, Clayton Plummer, Roseburg, Ore., Thomas Plummer, White Salmon, and Mitchell Plummer, Underwood; 23 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and seven great, great-grandchildren; brothers Jack and Tom Cleaveland, Post Falls, Idaho; and sisters Joy Trower, Spokane, and Rosie Pheming, Post Falls, Idaho.

Funeral services were held at Gardner Funeral Home in White Salmon on March 13, 2007. She was buried at White Salmon Cemetery.

A memorial (Angel Fund) has been established in her name at Whitson Elementary School in White Salmon.

ROCHELLE MUSGROVE

After a seven-year battle with breast cancer, Rochelle Faye Billette Musgrove of Trout Lake passed away on Nov. 15, 2009, at Providence Hood River Memorial Hospital.

Rochelle was born on Feb. 27, 1961, in Baxter Springs, Kan., to Daniel and Mary Plummer. She grew up in the Bingen-White Salmon area with her parents and eight siblings and graduated from Columbia High School in 1979. Following high school, Rochelle married Michael Billette and together they had four children, Jeremy, Joshua, Jared and Jessica. In 2001, Rochelle married Perry Musgrove and together they had a son, Jarin Musgrove.

Rochelle was an avid believer in giving back to her community and was a leader in the Boy Scouts of America, a member of Fire Districts 1 and 3, provided community outreach for H.U.G.S. Fair, taught CPR, First Aid and safety education classes. Rochelle was employed at Skyline Hospital for 18 years, working first with the Lifeline program and then her dream job of becoming an EMT.

Rochelle is survived by her brothers Charles Crowel, Daniel, David, Clayton, Thomas and Mitchell Plummer; sisters Kathryn Hayes and Elizabeth Burris; her husband Perry Musgrove; sons Jarin Musgrove, Jeremy (Sandy), Joshua (Dezeree), and Jared Billette; daughter Jessica (Steven) Neilson; and former husband Michael Billette. The lights of her life were her grandsons, Kraig, Atticus and Archie Billette.

Services will be held at 10:30 am Saturday, Nov. 21, 2009, at Gardner Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the White Salmon Cemetery on Snowden Road with a potluck gathering at the Trout Lake Grange at 3 p.m.
